It's Sly Fox Studio's Triple Figure Follower Giveaway!

slyfoxstudio:

You like me, you really like me! I love painting miniatures, and the fact that 100 of you also like what I do enough to follow me is just astounding!

To celebrate reaching the century mark I’ve decided to have a little giveaway. The rules are simple, all you have to do is follow me and reblog…

Finished Gorman di Wulfe, not much to the sculpt, but its another Merc down…

Man, I hate Nuln Oil. I want a black wash, not a grey wash. The heavier I need it, the worse it gets. Anyone got a good dark black wash recommendation?

Group shot of my completed mercs. I still have Gorman di Wulfe, Eiryss1 and Sylys to do.

Finished Saxon Orrick. Quite pleased with this.

Nurgle Terminator Lord. He’s been sitting on my TODO shelf for a while, but finally painted him last week. Love the cloak, and the rust effects turned out nice (I think anyways…)

Wayhey! Getting back into a painting groove (finally). Saxon Orrick WIP, still wet from his washes. Hope to finish him tomorrow

A good friend of mine is getting married today - he’s a 40k lore/fiction nut, and has read more of the Black Library than anybody else I know. He doesn’t paint himself, so I thought it would be nice to make him something 40k related that he could display next to his bookshelves. It was tricky to find a 40k quote that had any relevance to marraige, but in the end, I went for a twist on the traditional “til death do us part”. Hope he likes it!

Urgh. Beasts paint job has gone sour, I went a bit mad with the white, and I’m not happy with the results - its hard to photograph, but I worked the white too much and its very textured… Luckily, I’m only a few hours in, so I plan to strip and start again… Stay tuned!

So, this is where I’m up to - blocked in the main colors, then a dirty big wash of nuln oil. Next up will be the brass sections and a rehighlight of the cream areas, before both get a sepia wash. Then lots of highlighting and detailing, basing and weathering…
Edit: Wow - popular post - thanks for all the reposts/love! I’d better put some effort into making it good… no pressure…
