Picked up a trio of barbarians from hassle free miniatures, a small uk-based studio. Really impressed with the sculpts, especially with the resin they use - virtually no flash or mold lines, and very sharp detail.
Did a quick paint job on one of the minis from yesterday - turned out ok. Its a “Son of Kronos Wyrd” from Chronopia. It’s helmet reminded me of Slough Feg from Sláine.
Today I visited a model factory! Its called Prince August, and it’s in Cork in Ireland. They mostly make historical stuff (Napoleonic wars, etc..) using drop-molds (you melt metal and cast them yourself at home). However, they also have loads of stock from an old game called Chronopia, so I picked up a few models from their bargain bin. Interesting place, well worth a visit.
Completed Flesh Tearer Vanguard Veterans
Great work, well done!
Zoanthrope all finished - twas fun to paint, lots of little details, and big surfaces to paint reds (my fave)
Received a gift of a Zoantrope. It was missing a set of arms, so I green stuffed on some instead. I made one a bit warped, thought it looked cool as a kinda vestigial arm. Anyway, hopefully painted soon!
GW did a great job on these tutorials - very similar to my painting technique, go watch!
Some action shots of my wee ork warband!
Finished the Ork Warboss from the Assault on Black Reach set. Another model I’ve had sitting on my to-do pile for ages. Love painting orks, so much detail and texture. Pretty pleased with this one, he looks well next to his orky mates…
